Barracks Club Nights Resumption

Firstly, Happy New Year from Black Lion Squash Club.

Secondly, we have good news that we have managed to come to an agreement with the Army regarding access to the Barracks courts again for the purposes of Club Night.  The Army has very kindly allowed us to resume club nights from Tuesday 11th January at 6 pm.  We will be looking to run two club nights at the barracks a week on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 18:00 to 21:00.

Access to the courts for our members has been permitted by the army with the prerequisite that only double vaccinated members play at the courts, this is due to limiting the threat to army personnel who may frequent the courts while we are playing.  Obviously anyone feeling unwell with symptoms should NOT attend club night as they will be turned away.   Please bear in mind these are not BLSC stipulations but the Army’s.  These are challenging times for all, we as a club have no choice other than to adhere to these requirements if we would like to continue to have access to the Army courts.

We have entered into a new arrangement with the Army to rent the courts till the 1st March 2022 at the aforementioned times, these costs have to be recouped to make having club nights at the barracks a viable option.  In lieu of this the charges will be £3 per club night or a one off fee of £30 for all 15 club nights till the 1st March.  Please bear in mind we have to pay the costs to the army so we kindly request that moneys be paid promptly.  These can also be made electronically.  If costs of the courts cannot be covered we will ultimately have to relinquish the courts, it Is therefore in everyone’s interest that payments are made swiftly either to myself or Dinesh or whoever is running club night on the evening.  The fees are  nominal and we have deliberately as a club kept the charges to a minimum to encourage players back to playing squash at some of the best courts in Kent. 

Army personnel will, as previously agreed be given sole access to court 3 should any attend during club night.
